When I moved to London, and during my first year here. I used to go out for a run every day before work. Which kept me focused, alert and looking good. I stop when my knee started to hurt. And I have not done if for 3 years now. But I have picked it up again, my morning routine. Today! This morning! I went for an interval lap around half Victoria Park at 6.30am. And it felt amazing! How I have missed it! Morning sun in my face, wet drops on the grass when stretching. But what I have changed, with regards to my knee, is how I do it. I do not run for 30 min non stop. I do intervals. Between every bench in the park I run. And at each bench I stop to do push ups, squats, abs, anything, and then run to the next! Which lets my knee rest in between. Oh very excited about my old new discovery!!
I know what I will be doing tomorrow morning! And 30 min is nothing of my time, that’s the time I usually snooze or read blogs and news in the morning in bed. And a morning work out works much better for me than evenings, as I want to do things in the evening, meet people, picnics, a glass of wine.. What works for you?
