I had organised a surprise dinner for Matthew yesterday and took him and 10 of our friends to the new Mark Hix restaurant Tramshed in Shoreditch close to Old Street tube. It was like eating in a big barn.. with a massive Damien Hirst cow and chicken in the middle.

We sat on the balcony and looked out over the big restaurant space and the long bar. A very cool atmosphere.

So the deal with this place was that you either ordered chicken to share or sirloin steak. That’s it.

Me and Matthew.

Silas was the last one to surprise Matthew.

My beautiful friend Moa was there to celebrate!

And so were Manou.. and many more friends that I did not manage to capture on photo.

I had heard great thing about this place. Mostly about it’s look and the idea of the restaurant. It looks very impressive and cool both from the outside and inside. I liked the feeling of it and the chilled out energy in there. The food was good. Great meat, perfectly medium rare. I would have been happy to return to this place, if it was not for the service. I did not think the service was in line with the prices of the food we ended up paying for the meal. It was not as smooth and professional as I would have wanted it to be. But it was fun to have been and experience it with friends. I would give it a three on the grade scale of five.
